Shine

Just popping in to share a card I made with some glitter I got the other day!
I have been having way too much fun playing with it.
I used my Silhouette to mask the 'SHINE' and Photoshop to print the rest of the quote.  I masked my Silhouette mask with the die-namics chevron die shapes so the 'SHINE' also has a gradient, chevron-pattern in the glitter.

I'm so happy how this turned out.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

It's time for this week's Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.
The third week of the month is the Cool Shades color challenge!

Here's my card:
I used the following Paper Smooches stamps:

Debonair (gingham inside monster)
Dapper (pattern stamped on orange)
Party Posse (birthday sentiment)

Be sure to stop by the rest of the Paper Smooches Sparks DT members blogs to see what they've created and leave them some love.

This weeks Sparks challenge ends May 27th so get stamping!
Can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Just popping in to share a fun Mother's Day card I created for the mom of true boys!
I definitely did not start this card out with this in mind...
I had intended to make something sweet and pretty.

After I got the flowers and leaves together,
all I could think of were army men nesting in a mom's flowers.
At my house, it's not necessarily army men, but instead dinosaurs or super hero figures.
I know it's only a matter of time before I start finding army men.

So, I went with it.  The army figure and the stars are from Paper Smooches Little Fella.
The flowers and leaves are from Paper Smooches Reflections and the background is Geo-Graphic.

I also added a little Studio Calico mist in the background.  (One drop landed on the gun of the army man so I was bummed about that but I think you still see the army man... or i hope!)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Moxie Fab World Gingham Challenge Part 2

As promised, I'm back to share my 2nd card for the Moxie Fab World gingham challenge, honoring Paper Crafts Magazine Card Creations Vol 10.
I pretty much am OBSESSED with Paper Smooches Reflections.
Seriously peeps, best stamp set ever.

I like that it is still cute-sy but can lend itself to more serious occasions.  :)

Just like in my first card (here), I 'kissed' my gingham with the leaves to create these gingham leaves.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Simply Said.

Hint: It took a LOT of tries to get these leaves to stamp the gingham crisply.  If you have troubles with your ink looking blotchy, try using Versamark.  It definitely helped!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Moxie Fab World Gingham Challenge

I have been itching to play in some of the latest Moxie Fab World challenges in honor of Paper Crafts Magazine Card Creations, Vol 10.  You can find more info about it here!

I have two entries for the Gingham challenge, but I'm only sharing one here right now.  The other is still in pieces, so it'll make it's debut in a day or two...
I kissed my PTI gingham stamp to Paper Smooches Reflections to get the stamped gingham leave pattern.  I'm actually really liking how this turned out.

Simple but not.  I think it will make a great wedding or engagement card.

Back to share more soon.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Faux Washi Tape Card

So, believe it or not, I actually don't own much washi tape.
(Disclaimer: I bought some from the store earlier this week but I haven't used it yet and, to be honest, I might return it.)

You see, I'm having a BLAST making faux washi tape.
Either with tissue paper or just cardstock and masking, I'm loving the process.
Plus, with all the amazing background stamps available now, the possibilities are ENDLESS!
I love that!
To make this faux washi tape, I simply masked the width of my washi tape with regular post-it notes and then used torn post it notes for the torn edges of the washi tape.  I stamped and then used a sponge to give it a little more background color of a transparent look.

I used Paper Smooches background stamps, Geo-Graphic (here) and Debonair (here).
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, Script Sentiments (here).

The stars are left over from the inside of the Papertrey Ink star border die.  :)
It's the perfect itty bitty star.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hang In There Hangers

Stretching myself outside of my comfort zone is a huge goal of mine for 2012.
I made a little challenge to myself this year to enter all of the bigger Paper Crafts Magazine contests...

Stamping Royalty: Check.

Next up: Gallery Idol.

I looked at each card that made it into Gallery Idol and wrote down what was cool about each card. They get a bizillion entries, after all...
I really thought about why it 'won'. Just to list a few:
Each card was CLEVER.

Each card was UNIQUE.
Each card STOOD OUT.
Each card was MEMORABLE.
Each card embraced the THEME.

Time to stop rambling and get to the card.
This years theme for open auditions is 'encouragement'.

I love creating 'punny' cards. They make me smile.
So, I dug through my stash to find something that did exactly what I wanted to accomplish.
I used Paper Smooches Hang Ups (here) for the hanger, heart, and the sentiment.
I stamped the hearts first, then masked that area and stamped the hangers.

I colored the hearts in with my Copics and then coated them in Glossy Accents.
Lastly, I misted for a little splatter/sprinkled ink effect.
Gosh, I am hooked on misting!
Hopefully this stands out to the Paper Crafts judges.
Either way, it was fun and I have a card I can't wait to send to a new crafty friend.
She can always use a little encouragement. :)

I'm also entering this card into the Spatter Technique Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
