Season's Givings Blog Hop

Happy New Year!  2014 was an interesting year for me and my family, full of highs and lows.  Totally honest though - I'm looking forward to a new year!  Hello, 2015!!!

Today, I'm taking part in the Seasons Givings blog hop.

You should have arrived here from Lisa Hoel's blog.  For the entire hop list - scroll to the bottom.

To say hello, I created this card.
I used my new favorite Avery Elle Dotted Borders to create the sentiment panel.  The sentiment and flowers are from Avery Elle Fabulous Florals.  I used all of the exact same products on the card below too.

And to so thank you for taking part in this hop, I created this card.

To say thank you, I have a few goodies to share.  I don't have pictures ready, it will just have to be a surprise!  :)  I promise it will be worth it!

To enter, please leave a comment telling me your favorite type of embellishment!  Be sure to include if you're a new follower or an existing follower, as I'll be drawing one winner from each category!  Comment by Monday, January 5th and winners will have 48 hrs to claim their prize!

Now it's off to Lisa Henke's blog!

Just a Note

Hello!  In all of the holiday festivities, I realized that I didn't get this post up!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and have a fun New Year's Eve planned!

I made these cute notes for my children thinking they'd be adorable in their lunch boxes!
I used the Just A Note Die, cutting it twice and adhering the layers together.  The sentiment is assembled from Elle's Alphas stamps to match the penguin carrying a present in the North Pole stamp set.

Here it is folded up!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Simply Said: You

Hello friends! One week till Christmas - can you believe it?  I love the entire Christmas season and I am enjoying every minute of it!

However today's card is a little bit non-Christmasy.

I used the new Simply Said You stamp & die to create the sentiment.   I cut stars from the Finished Frame die collection and covered them glossy accents to give them a little touch of something extra!

The pierced border is from the new Dotted Borders die and the fun bright paper peeking out from behind is from the Everyday Collection Paper Pad.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Avery Elle: Made With Love

I love a good punny sentiment and the new Avery Elle Made with Love stamp set is full of them and an essential if you are a knitter or have a knitter in your life.
For my card, I stamped the ball of yarn with Silver Fox ink (best shade ever)  on Silver Fox card stock (best shade ever).  Then, I heat embossed a sentiment on Sea Glass card stock and added it to my card front.   This looks amazing in person and I just can't help but feel knitty looking at it!

How fun is this set?
Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Avery Elle Blog Hop

Hooray!  It feels like FOREVER since we had our last Avery Elle release blog hop - I've missed them!  You should have arrived here from the fantastic Caryn Davies's blog.  If you need to start from the top, head to the Avery Elle blog.

For the hop, I'm playing with the new Avery Elle Bunting stamp set!  Yay!  It's FULL of banners and all sorts of things you'd string across the sky!

This set has been so fun to play with!  Of course there are coordinating dies as well. :)  Now, I know I'm a little biased when it comes to this stamp set (because I designed this one) but I really feel the possibilities are endless!

Here's a few ideas for how it works when you put it together.

For my first card, I wanted to play with the lanterns.
Here I stamped the stitched string in Fog ink and then used a coordinating Bunting die cut string and placed that right over the top.  I stamped and die cut the lanterns and added the die cut bows as well. The strip of patterned paper at the bottom is from The Everyday Collection 6x6 paper pad

Next up, I have one of my favorite cards I've created ever.  I know I shared it on my blog on Tuesday but I had to share it again.
On this card, I stamped both colors of the strings just like I did above and then added the stars and banners (all from Bunting).  Then, I added a sentiment using the cute new mini Elle's Alphas.

I couldn't stop with the stars. :)
Here I used the new Dotted Border Elle-ments dies to add this decorative edge.

I shared this card also on my blog yesterday, but again - had to share it again.

One last thing... I thought I would share how I stamp the strings. :)  One comes pre-curved but the other two are straight which work perfectly for creating your own custom curve.
First I stamp the solid curve.
Then I come back in and stamp the stitched curve right over top and it's time to go to town adding all the little tid bits tied to the bunting banner.

Now to the hop...  you should be off to JJ Bolton's blog but here's the hop order incase you get lost!

Paper Crafts Magazine Swan Song

Gulp.  I'm not sure what to say.

You should have arrived here from my sweet friend Karolyn's blog

The Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine Go-to Gals said a fond farewell last week.  You can see my post here

I stumbled into crafting because I needed something for myself.  A hobby.  Something that gave me personal joy and a creative outlet.  Something to give me some "me" time.  I also wanted something that could take up little space and wouldn't make too much of a mess. Ha!!!

Within a month of picking up the hobby, I started submitting to Paper Crafts and one month later I had my first acceptance.

The rest is history.

While making pretty things out of stamps, ink, and paper is fun, the people are what make this whole hobby so out-of-this-world fantastic.  I've made some of my best friends today though paper crafting and I know that Paper Crafts magazine (and Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine) is at the center of that.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine family.

To all of my paper crafting friends (close or not) - I am so thrilled to have been a part of this with you.

To the editors,
I know I said it last week but I'll say it again... I adore and respect and appreciate each one of you.  So much.  Thank you for everything you did for this community. I wish you all the best.

Now for a few projects...

This card would have been on the March 2015 cover.

This was a card for our Go-to Gal Sparks column.  I featured Pretty Pink Posh sequins and dies.

And one last new one - to say thank you - to everyone.

Now you're off to Niki's blog.

Big hugs to everyone today.  Thanks for making it to my blog.

Meet Avery Elle Bunting

I love it when I have fun cards with super fun new stamps to share! :)
I made this card with the new Avery Elle Bunting stamp set - which releases this Thursday.  The letters are from the new super-cute Elle's Aplha's mini set.

It's FULL of banners and all sorts of things you'd string across the sky!  This set has been so fun to play with!  Of course there are coordinating dies as well. :)

Here's a few ideas for how it works when you put it together.

So, I'd love to know... what's your favorite stamp in this set?

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be sure to head to the Avery Elle blog to see what Jamie has to share there and have a great day!
