2011 Recap.

Oh my goodness.
I can't believe 2011 is coming to a close as I type.
What a year.

I didn't even stamp 1 year ago today.
I've always been crafty but I definitely had put that part of my life on hold and put my husband and my two darling children, Parker & Molly, first.
Then I decided I needed something for myself...
and since I have a friend who's a stamper... I decided to dabble...

I had no idea I would be opening Pandora's box!

Here's to looking back on 2011.

This is one of my favorite first cards.  I still love the flower on the text background.  *Sigh*

I still love these birds.  I have a thing for birds.

This one still cracks me up.
It's one of those that I wonder if people will get.
tee hee hee.

This was SO MUCH FUN to make.  And, I still am obsessed with wormy.

I love when I get to play with my digi stamps.

I love this shape.
I need to make more of these cards.

I almost always stay CAS.  But I love love LOVE this card.

hahaha!
Major smiles.

Another image I love.
The whale from Paper Smooches Surf n' Turf.
Sigh.
He couldn't be any more perfect.

100 Party Favors.
Ack.  It was fun... kind of...
I will never forget it, that's for sure!

Thanks for stopping by crafty friends.

It's been a great 2011.
Here's to an even better 2012.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge: Dec 15-28

Just popping in to share a card I made for the latest Paper Smooches Sparks challenge, here.

Check out this inspiration.  Eek, how could one NOT play along?

I looked through all of my Paper Smooches stamps.  I had an idea of what I wanted to do so I just needed to find the stamp to do it... and that's when I saw the Monster from the Falling For You set. Yes, he's perfect for this card.

I wanted to replicate the idea of antler headbands but I didn't have any pipe cleaners so I used a stamp from Hang Ups.   Then I tied a scarf around him and put pom poms on the end to make the scarf even cuter.

Since I don't really need another Christmas card at this point in time, I decided to make it a thank you card.  I actually think it's perfect for my son to give one of his grandmas!  The sentiment is from Word Up.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

100 Christmas Party Favors

WOW!  Long time, no post.
Sorry about that.

I've been super busy crafting just haven't had a minute to blog anything.

Today I took 8 handmade gingerbread houses to my son's preschool for his class to decorate!  It was so much fun and boy did they ever turn out *special*!   Nothing like 8 3-4 year olds, lots of candy, and frosting!  eek!

But to why I'm actually blogging... I was asked by a coworker back in August to make some party favors for her annual Christmas party, 100 of them to be exact.  Oh man.  But of course, I happily accepted.
I took this idea from a PTI release, which you can see here.
Using the lunchbox note die, the limitless layers, and misc PTI dies I created 100 of these bad boys.

No two are the same... for the most part.
And, it gave me a chance to use up some older paper that I really needed to get rid of!  :) I love it when things like that happen!

They are adorable.  I had so much fun.  But needless to say, my arm hurts from excessive big shot usage.  :)

Here they all are ready to go!
Bye favors!  I'm so glad I don't have to do even just one more of these!

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry

Just popping in to share a quick card using one of my newest finds, Whimsie Doodles.
Oh my goodness they have some seriously adorable digi stamps!
I love digi stamps!  eek!  Instant gratification!
I kept the colors very traditional. I love red and green with pops of aqua.
*sigh*
I used their adorable snowman and put him on a tag for the Whimsie Doodle November challenge

Storky Reject

Hi friends!

I'm popping in to share a card I made for the Paper Crafts Magazine May/June submission call.  Over 640 projects were submitted with only 90 picked up, so I feel incredibly lucky to say that while this one was rejected, I did have a few picked up for publication!  Yippee!

I absolutely LOVE how this one turned out.  This was for Sketch #2.  I followed the sketch pretty closely...  I never have much luck with sketches but I like that it's a challenge for me!  :)

I'm adding this to Amber's reject blog hop!  Thank you, Amber, for hosting such a fun way to share projects that we all put so much time, effort, and love into!

I used some really cute Martha Stewart Paper Tape and the PTI stamp set Bundle of Love.

Isn't this stork so stinkin' cute?
Now I just need to find someone who is having a baby girl...  Everyone I know is expecting boys!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Birthday Parrot

Happy Halloween!
Thinking that I should have made a Halloween card for today's post...

However, we had a birthday party instead this past weekend so I was kept busy with that instead.

I finally busted open two of my new paper smooches sets: Chit Chat and My Peeps.
I love love LOVE this sentiment!

Well, I pretty much love all of the Paper Smooches stuff, let's be honest!
Thanks for stopping by & have a spook-tacular day!

Hang In There

Hi All!
I finally got around to use this adorable Paper Smooches squirrel, from the Hang Ups set.  Isn't he adorable!  I've had so much fun with Hang Ups... well, really all of the Paper Smooches sets are SO much fun!
I made this card for a coworker who is dealing with some medical stuff right now.  I hope that such a cute card can possibly shed some smiles in a tough time.

Admit One

Hi All!
Forgot I hadn't shared this on my blog yet!  This is the first card I had picked up by Paper Crafts magazine for publication, in their Sept/Oct 2011 issue, available here.

It uses My Cute Stamps Circus Animals and a lot of paper piecing.  Such fun!

whale of a birthday

I'm back with my Paper Smooches whale again.
Have I mentioned that I am beyond obsessed with Surf and Turf?
I'm beginning to think I should give him a name since I use him so often.

How do you feel about the name Sunny???  I'm thinking Sunny a huge smile emerges on my face every time I see him.  Plus, it's gender neutral!  I can use him in pink too!  hehe!

dreams take flight

I have had the PTI Happy Trails set for awhile now and haven't really used them yet.  It's one of those sets that I love but just haven't had time.

99% sure that I bought this set for the paper airplane and the swirly lines.  I love them.
*sigh*

Sweet Wonderful You

Have you been to Pink Petticoat yet?
If not, I suggest you take a trip!  I love, love, LOVE their digital stamps!
How fun is this cake stand?!?!?!
I printed it out twice, once on kraft, once on white- colored in the white & cut it out and paper-pieced it onto the kraft.  Then I covered the treats in Stickles to make them look even more delicious!

Yummy, don't you think?

Birthday Pinch

How cute is this crab?
I have a thing for beachy stamps apparently.  Whales, crabs, beachy birds- I love them.
And can one ever have too many birthday cards on hand?
I feel like I am always out!
This little crab is from My Cute Stamps Fishy Fun.

I could play with him all day.
I kept it really clean & simple...

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge Helicopter Love

It's Paper Smooches Sparks challenge time again and isn't this one great?
At first I really wanted to do a baby card using the onesie and colors as my inspiration but I also needed a card for my mother and since my crafting time is limited, I had to take inspiration from the colors and the twine.

More background, my mother is actually a pilot.  Not a helicopter pilot but I think it still works for her.  In general, aviation themed, right?
I paper-pieced the helicopter (from Sunny Side Up) with an adorable MME green polka dot and colored in some pink stripes with Copics.

I mean really, what girl wouldn't want a green polka dotted w/ pink racing stripe helicopter?  :):):)
The hearts are from Hang Ups and the sentiment is from Word Up.

My mother-in-law borrowed my sewing machine and I'm really wishing I could have stitched the periphery of the kraft cardstock.  I even considered hand stitching it- but there was no way I would have time for that... so here it is.

hey, hey good lookin'

Here's a little something I came up with using one of the new Hero Arts digi kits at 2peas, Kitchen Silhouettes.  I love all the different images and have big plans for this set.

I love all the amazing colored kitchen gadgets these days. When I got married, there was very little fun stuff out there... Although, I must say I got an amazing PINK cake platter from a good friend that I am still obsessed with!  Thanks again, Ashley!

So, I decided to work the previous idea in with Paper Crafts Color Inspiration #9 challenge, here

Added a cute computer generated sentiment for fun!

Moxie Fab World Card Play Challenge

Moxie Fab World challenge time again.  This time: Card Play

I love the idea of this challenge.  There are so many different ways you can go with it.  Unfortunately I couldn't find a deck of playing cards in our house or a single card stamp.  How can that be?  Gonna have to fix that...

Anyways, I played in photoshop and here's what I came up with:

Super clean and simple and I know just who to send this to!

Tuesday Trigger: Delightfully Random

It's Tuesday Trigger time again over at Moxie Fab World and I just love this weeks trigger, Delightfully Random!
There are so many ways you can go with it.
There are the flags, the buttons, the doily, the flowers, the spools of thread, the envelope... it just goes on and on and it is SO delightfully random.  Oooh, and the color combination- LOVE that too!  Thank you Cath for picking something so terrific!

For my card, I really wanted to play with 3 things: The teal background, the envelope pattern, and the bird.  I also really wanted to combine the pinks and reds too.

 I love patterned paper.
I'm addicted to it.

I took this opportunity to combine a bunch of papers that I love into something also delightfully random and pretty!  Lots of paper-piecing with the birdie too!

The little bird is from My Cute Stamps Ella's Flowers and the sentiment is a rub-on by Pebbles.  The patterned papers are by Echo Park, Pebbles, & My Minds Eye.
