How cute are the Pattern Happy stamps and paper?!?!  I love!!!
For my card, I stamped the sun and banner/sentiment from Suntiments.  Then I created my panel and tucked some cute pattern happy paper behind it.

Essentials by Ellen - Stay Golden

Hey everyone!

I've got pineapples on the brain - I'm headed to Hawaii for Spring Break tomorrow (eeeep bring on the SUN!!!).  I cannot wait to devour my fair share of pineapples.  So, it's only natural I'd pull out the Essentials by Ellen Stay Golden stamp set.
To create my card, I stamped the pineapples across the bottom of my card and then added some finishing die cut details along the top and bottom of my panel.  I used my favorite Essentials by Ellen Linen cardstock - it's got the slightest text that it really makes solid images look really need with a slightly added distressing.

The patterned paper poking from the bottom is from Pattern Happy - which is new at the Ellen Hutson store.
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me!
Have a great day!

Avery Elle and Ellen Hutson watercolor blog hop

Hello!  We are so excited to be hopping along with our friends at Ellen Hutson today.  We are featuring projects using our NEW Liquid Watercolors and are SO excited to show them off in action.  Avery Elle's liquid watercolors come in 10 gorgeous shades that can be used on their own or easily mixed together to create custom colors.  For an intense shade use the watercolors straight out of the bottle.  If you want lighter shades, just add various amounts of water to get the color you desire.  The possibilities are endless.  Be sure to check out all of the details of the hop as well as how to be entered to win one of TWO FULL SETS of our Avery Elle Liquid Watercolors over on the Ellen Hutson Classroom Blog.

Let's get to the hop shall we?

For my project, I created a watercolor background using Lemon Grass, Celery, Sapphire, Aquamarine and Sea Glass watercolors.

I stamped adorable little animals from the new Party Pals stamp set, colored them in and then die cut them.  I adhered everything to the card with dimensional adhesive and then heat embossed the sentiment and stamped the stars.  I added glittery gold Nuvo drops to the inside of the stars!

Mermaids

Hey y'all!  Getting caught up on the blog today.  Darn it, I hate falling behind.

Anyways, I'm posting my Avery Elle card a few days late but better late than never, right!

For today's post, I'm playing with the Mermaids stamp set.  I tell ya - this set just makes me happy!  I love these little mermaids and I especially love how the pair fantastically with the previously released Bubbles set.

If you didn't see the video introducing this set, be certain to check it out here

To the card, shall we? Actually... I created TWO cards!

For my first card, I created a distress paint background by simply circling the paint in the center of the cardstock.  I die cut it using the new Pierced Mat die.

Then, I stamped, die cut and colored my mermaids.  The sentiment is stamped on a banner from Wonky Stitches .

For my next card, I created a distress ink blended background with a custom stencil I created with just vellum and a die.  I love this technique!  Here I paired the mermaid and seahorse from Mermaids with a fish from Bubbles.

Thank you so much for stopping in and sharing part of your day with me.
Have a wonderful day!

Ellen Hutson - S'whale hello

Hey all! Today we're hopping to celebrate Ellen Hutson's new 2018 design ambassador team.  I'm so excited to be returning to the Ellen Hutson team - such a special group and outstanding company to be affiliated with!  I pinch myself everyday that I'm so lucky!

For the hop, we're celebrating the new team with a special get to know you post.

So fun, right?!?!

Since this post is all about getting to know is - we thought some Q&A was in order!
  1. Coffee or tea?  Coffee - but I actually only drink decaf!  A few years ago, I gave up caffeine as part of a cleanse.  It was amazing how it felt coming off caffeine - and I won't ever go back now!
  2. How did you come up with your blog name?  My blog name is actually both of my children's names!  Parker is now 10 and Molly is nearly 8.
  3. Tell us one silly/random/interesting tidbit about yourself!  Hmmm.... there are lots of silly tidbits.  I LOVE PUGS.  I can sing all of the US presidents in order to the tune of Yankee Doodle.  I work full time as a Manufacturing Engineer for a very large, US based aerospace company.
Alright, now to the card making stuff...  Even as a seasoned card maker, I enjoy learning tips & tricks from other crafters.  I learn so much when I go to other card makers blog about color combinations and different ways to use many of the supplies I already have.
If I were to offer a tip to my readers when it comes to crafting - I would recommend people think of the rule of thirds.  I often will divide my projects into thirds or use three of something or have three main things going on.

What's a hop without a project to share?!?!  We were asked to create whatever we wanted to represent our style.

My signature style is definitely fun & cute.  Since I love love love critter stamps, I decided I wanted to create a card with an a Essentials by Ellen critter stamp.  The whales in S'whale just couldn't be any cuter - I adore them!!

To create my card I die cut my top layer and then ink blended a background behind it. I added some stamped details and then created a shaker with some sequins.  I stamped, colored and die cut the whale and added it to the front of my card.  Finally I heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock and added it to the front.
