Neat & Tangled Blog Hop

Hooray!  Today I get to be part of a fabulous blog hop for Neat & Tangled.   I am so honored to participate in this hop.  Thank you Danielle and the rest of the Neat & Tangled team!

Now, you should have arrived here from Anna Kossakovskaya's blog.   If not, head to Danielle's blog to start the hop from the beginning!

For this hop, I played with Photo Booth!
Cute, eh?

I had to play with the heart - I am such a sucker for heart stamps!  I created a bokeh effect and heat embossed a few sentiments onto black cardstock.

Now it's off to the super sweet Laurie Willison's blog!  Adore her so much!

Here's the entire hop order, incase you encounter any broken links along the way!

Aloha!

Ok, this new Avery Elle set is so cool.
It's the new Avery Elle Surf's Up set.  I love the surf boards and the palm tree and the sun and the waves (which also work great for speeding air behind the van) and of course the van!
To create my card, I stamped the van, masked it, and then stamped the palm trees.  To get two different palm trees, I just bent the palm tree stamp and to get the shape I wanted!  Here's an important tip:  Don't forget to stamp your mask at the same time - before moving the shape of your palm tree!   Next, I masked everything and stamped the brushes from the Brushed set.  I love that it gives it a beachy masculine feel and I think it would be perfect for a teenager!  To finish it off I paper-pieced some of the van and added woodgrain enamel dots.
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me!  Have a great day!

I'm a guest for the Mama Elephant Operation Write Home Blop Hop

Hi everyone and YAY!  I am so excited to be joining in the fun and supporting the Mama Elephant and Operation Write Home blog hop.

Operation Write Home is a nonprofit that sends beautiful handmade cards to our service members so that they can write home to their families. How incredible is that?!  There’s no Hallmark store in the desert, so this is a pretty important gift we can give them as crafters!

For the hop, you should have arrived here from my friend, Ashley Marcu's blog.  For the hop, we're playing with the new In My Heart stamp set.
Just adorable, right?
Let's get to the cards...
First, I used pretty much all of my favorite dies (Cityscape, Landscape Trio, and Femme Frames) to create a little scene.

Next, I went little more simple and create another scene, this time using a sentiment to ground the little kid.

The “In My Heart” set was inspired by the mission of OWH; many of those serving overseas have little kiddos at home that they write to. So the darling ladies at Mama Elephant designed cute little kids and sentiments to express just how much those little folks are missed! The drawings are done in such a way that they can be adapted to different ethnicities too, making this a really flexible set. Because Mama Elephant is so great, they're donating 20% of the proceeds of the stamp sets sold on their retail site from now until July 31st - we really want to help them fundraise for all their efforts!

Be sure you visit the OWH website and read all the guidelines carefully….you’ll learn about why glitter is dangerous to send, so leave the stickles behind when making cards for heroes! Lots more information is available on their Welcome page - tons of questions are answered there! And they have a fun YouTube show each weekday with project info, tutorials, and more - check it out HERE.

Now you're off to Operation Write Home but here's
 the entire blog hop list!

AEIheartU Challenge

Have you seen the latest AEI{heart}U challenge?
It's all about DIY Stamped Designer Paper!  I love creating my own patterned paper with stamps and while I know I can't win, I still HAD to play!  I hope you'll play too because there are prizes involved!
I used the woodgrain stamp from Woodgrain & More to stamp a background, which I then die cut using largest Pinked die.  Then, I stamped and colored in with coloring pencils and gamsol a few critters from Storybook.  (Everything is linked below!)

To finish it off, I coated them all with Wink of Stella Clear glitter marker and the sentiment is from Weather It.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me!
