Avery Elle August Release Week - Sentimental Swirls

Happy Release Day!
Today is the day when all of the stamps are now available for purchase!
To go shopping, click HERE.

I'm so happy to be back with one of the most elegant sentiment stamp sets ever!
Sentimental Swirls!

Here's my first card.
For this card, I used Avery Elle Kraft and then matted some tiny chevron patterned paper with Avery Elle Lemon Grass cardstock.  The flowers & leaves are from Avery Elle Blossoms & Blooms.

Once I had these flowers stamped, I just couldn't stop!
But here, I stamped a background in grey with Ikat!

Lastly, I wanted to showcase that great 'Congratulations' sentiment.
For this card, I used the Avery Elle ultra smooth pure white cardstock and then nested some Seaglass cardstock.  Seriously, this is SUCH a pretty shade of blue!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team did too!

Avery Elle August Release Week - Blooming Banner

Happy Monday!
Are you ready for another day of Avery Elle's August release week!?!?
Today's post features the new release Blooming Banner!

I used the Avery Elle Ultra Smooth Pure White cardstock and stamped the bloom twice, once up and once down.  Then I masked the inner bloom and stamped, for the lack of the appropriate technical term, the burst-y things.  After removing the mask, I added some of the embellishments to the inside of the bloom too!   Lastly, I stamped the sentiment, which is from Sentimental Swirls and tied some Avery Elle grosgrain ribbon.

Super clean and simple.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team did too!
Also be sure to check out what Jamie has for you at the Avery Elle blog!

Now for a contest!!!!

Avery Elle August Release Week - Picture It!

Hello! Hello!
Welcome back to Avery Elle's August release week!
Today's post features the new release Picture It!

If you like the camera/polaroid trends that are so popular right now, you better sit down because this set is insanely awesome!

Say hello to Picture It!
Let's just talk about everything that's in this set:
polaroid = love!
camera = cuteness!
washi tape = are you kidding me, adorable!
speech bubble sentiments = It doesn't get any better than this!
And the best part is, this stamp set is FULL of goodness!  Seriously, it's jam packed!
You are going to want this one set.
Because it was so cute, I had to make a second card with that camera.

This time I used adorable camera to make my own background paper.  I absolutely love stamping my own backgrounds!
To get the two-tone cameras, I simply stamped in the light color ink first and then masked the bottom portion of the camera and then stamped over it with a darker ink.

For both cards I used the Avery Elle Ultra Smooth Pure White cardstock.  I am obsessed with this cardstock.  It's so smooth!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team did too!

Avery Elle August Release Week - Ikat

Wow!  I am so excited!
Welcome to Avery Elle's August release week!
Today's post features the new release Ikat.

Oh my goodness, this is the coolest set.

Here's my first card using the first set to make it's August debut, Ikat
I used one of the pattern builders to create a background for my card.  I used Avery Elle Ultra Smooth Pure White cardstock and the flower images are from Avery Elle's Blossoms & Blooms and Pixie grosgrain ribbon.  The pretty scripted sentiment is from Avery Elle but you'll see more from that set later this release week. :)

Now for card 2.

I wanted to do something a little more graphic for my next Ikat card, as I really wanted to showcase another one the really cool Ikat patterns!
Hopefully you can see the ombre effect here as I have stamped another one of pattern builders from Ikat in 2 different colors and added the next darker color with some Avery Elle Raspberry grosgrain ribbon.  Just like in the last card, I used the Avery Elle Ultra Smooth Pure White cardstock.  Again, the sentiment is also from Avery Elle, but you'll see that later on in release week. :)

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team did too!

Paper Smooches Sparks August Trend Watch

It's time for this week's Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.
The first week of the month is the trend watch challenge!
Here is this week's trend watch photo:

YAY for travel themed!  I looked through my stash but really was drawn to some patterned paper I've been hoarding and ultimately couldn't get away from it!

Here's my card:
I kept the patterned paper for the base of my card and layered some kraft cardstock on top.  I paper pieced the globe and heart with cardstock and drew faux stitching with my white gel pen.

I used the following Paper Smooches stamps:
Smarty Pants: Globe
Word Salad: Sentiment & Heart

Be sure to stop by the rest of the Paper Smooches Sparks DT members blogs to see what they've created and leave them some love.

This weeks Sparks challenge ends Aug12th so get stamping!
